Isabel Ameraucanas
Ultra rare, the Isabel Ameraucana is a relatively new colour variation of the standard Ameraucana. Painstakingly created by crossing Lavender Ameraucana with Wheaten Ameraucana, our farm has two distinct lines of this gorgeous breed as well as a third line of Wheatens that we are going to be crossing in to the Isabels to improve type and colouring. The lavender (Self Blue) colour in all birds is known for a Shredder Gene, which causes the feathers to look ragged and torn. This can be expected in any lavender bird including the Isabels, which is why we run a line of Wheatens to create splits that get bred to the Isabels, to improve type, egg colour and feathering. This is a project breed. Colours may not be 100% predictable.
Ameraucanas - Blue/Black/Splash
Excellent layers of blue/green eggs. Happy, agreeable birds who will make an excellent addition to any home or hobby farm! Colours are not guaranteed, we have all three colours of Ameraucana in the main pen with a Splash rooster. The rules of Blue Black Splash go as follow:
Splash X Blue = 50% Blue, 25% Splash, 25% White
Black X Blue = 50% Blue and 50% Black
Blue X Blue = 25% Black, 50% Blue and 25% Splash
Black X Black = 100% Black
Splash X Splash= 100% Splash
Wheaten - Blue/Black/Splash
This gorgeous variety of Ameraucana are excellent layers of blue/green eggs. The hens are a gorgeous cream colour while the roosters will be either Black, Splash or Blue with wheaten accents depending on their colouring. The rules of Blue/Black/Splash are the same in Wheaten Ameraucana and any B/B/S bird except in wheatens the hens will ONLY show the different blue black or splash colours in their wing feathers and tail feathers.
Blue/Black/Splash Copper Marans
Our handsome Blue Copper Marans rooster is over blue and black hens, meaning you will get either blue, black or splash from this mix. Gorgeous large birds with dark egg colour. They tend to be friendly and laidback birds.
Cream and Opal Legbars
Excellent layers of blue/green eggs. Opal is a gorgeous colour variation. Like mentioned above, lavender can often cause Shredder Genes, leaving birds with ragged or torn looking feathers. To mitigate this we run Cream Legbars with our Opals to improve type and egg colour. Auto sexing at hatch. Opals are trickier to sex at hatch due to their light colour.
